English-language OCR doesn't do too well with transliterated Chinese book titles, it seems, as evidenced by this page from the book Strange Writing, a scholarly work about the genre of anomaly accounts (basically compendiums of News of the Weird and other snippets):

Except for the 'Ssxy' and 'Sexy' on this page, at least it's been fairly consistent throughout with the wrong spellings.
