The Rick Owens Spring 2014 fashion show is a performance by college step-dancers, mostly African-American (er, I think they're all American?), all plus-sized by industry standards, and none of them blandly pretty in the way that models usually are so they don't overshadow the clothing. I haven't been able to figure out if it's one dance team or made up of others: the articles I've read on it are annoyingly paying more attention to the designer than the dancers, although I'm sure he's happy about it. But as one of the articles mentions: athletic wear shown on actual athletic women doing athletic things? Yes. (this is athletic wear by industry standards.)
Go watch the performance: 11 minutes and 45 seconds you won't regret. Love the show. But I will say right here, right now, that the dropped-crotch trend can FOAD, as far as I'm concerned. (I know it's a trend only because of Project Runway.)
edit: Interview with Shantell Richardson, Stepper #12, a fashion designer herself.
