Perfume allergy
Have discovered another BPAL perfume that gives me nasal allergies, Water Snake (limited edition).
Putting the components/scent elements they admit to* here for future reference:
Water Snake: A new year's blessing! Peony, China's national flower, with bamboo for flexibility, plum blossom for perseverance, courage, and hope, tangerine for wealth, orange for happiness, lychee for household peace, pine resin for constancy, golden kumquat and quince for prosperity, narcissus and King mandarin for good fortune, and peach blossom for longevity, with a splash of blazing red of dragon's blood... to help you scare away the rampaging Nian.
PHANTOM TIME HYPOTHESIS
A traditional Medieval perfume that never existed: balm, benzoin, damask rose, gumdragon, lignum aloes, orange water, ambergris, and vegetal musk.
* i.e. a perfume description might not contain exactly what they put in--and it'll never contain all that they put in--it might contain notes that emerge after it's all blended together, which might not have been specifically put in at all. Am I making sense?

My reaction to Water Snake is nowhere near as bad or as long-lasting as PTH. With PTH, I honestly thought I was getting a bad cold, and only made the connection after I didn't wear it for a day and got better, then put it on again and all of a sudden got sick again. With WS, it was more like an allergy attack that faded as the morning went on and the top notes wore off. (So it might not even be the same component!)

Doesn't sound like my allergy to bamboo, where having it in my mostly closed bedroom gave me some very scary anxiety attacks. They'd get a bit less when I was away at work for a few hours but lingered. This went on for a few days. I had no idea a reaction to a plant could do that to someone, but when I thought back to what differed before the attacks started, I realized that they started a day after I brought the plant home. It stopped not long after I got rid of it.

Yikes, that sounds like a nasty allergy, especially as it would be almost impossible to connect a plant to anxiety attacks.
