Does anyone else have the urge, when sailing past teeny islands or atolls, to cry out "Great Pan is dead!"

Of course! And my father always used to take me on cruises in the dead of winter, too, when it would have been most appropriate. Never quite have, though.

The primary thing stopping me was that other people were out on their balconies, and I knew that at least one person wouldn't get the allusion, and would call ship security on us.

And I admit to being a tiny bit apprehensive as to what would reply if I did!
