hah!
A couple of weeks ago I ordered the Saiyuki Series Perfect Guide Sayubito that a few of you on my f-list have been crowing about. Did it from amazon.co.jp and ahve been all proud that I managed to figure out from this all-Japanese email that there was a problem with my credit-card number (I think I typed it in wrong - the card itself is fine), and got it taken care of. I didn't pay for fast shipping or anything, so wasn't expecting it for another four weeks.

I now have an icon for those times when I'm really happy or feeling insufferably smug with myself. XD
Oh, and have a more-typical Telophase icon as well:

Page 17 is a section header.
Story Digest - summaries of each book of Saiyuki and the first 5 of Reload, I think, with lots of reprints of manga pages, very small, each book gets one two-pge spread. pp 18-45
Saiyuki Chronological Table - Two-page spread with a timeline, rest of it in Japanese.
Dictionary - PAges 48-61, all in Japanese. No clue what it is other than, perhaps, lisitng the people and places and things in the Saiyuki world and explaining them?
Comparitive Analysis of Saiyuki - Essay by Minekura, that I and several other poele want desperately to get translated. :) pp 62-69, primarily text.
Question & Answer - veeeeeery teeny font, lots of questions (in Japanese) and, presumably, answer. pp 70-73, with what looks like tiny reproductions of fanart.
Design Works - Pages like usually show up in the back of her artbooks - reproductions of pencils. pp 74-92. Might be worth it for this, since I don't think a lot of these have been reprinted from the previous artbooks. Some have, I think.
Interview - Solid text, with a few more tiny reproductions of fanart, it looks like. Presumably an interview of some sort (I AM SO INSIGHTFUL). pp 94-101 (pg 91 was a contents page before this section)
Impressions - Seems to be messages from other pro artists, some with theri versions of the characters, some jsut text. pp 102-109
Goods - your standard two pages listing tankoubons and CDs and such.
The final page is the table of contents.
The ISBN is 4-7580-5166-6 if you're interested in it. It cost 1500 yen and I paid an additional 1500 yen shipping trhough the Japanese Amazon.com, and I've seen it in one or two places online for 3000-3500 yen, so ti's all much of a muchness, I assume.

Would you mind if I stole the picture for icon purposes? I need Saiyuki icons to fill up all that new empty space (which is so far translating into many icons of "Goku being adorable" and "Gojyo and Hakkai being sexy and married", but surely Sanzo will deign to make an appearance at some point).

(I always have the desire to download pics from anyone who says "OMG NO DOWNLOADS THEY'RE COPYRIGHT TO ME BECAUSE I SCANNED AND CLEANED THEM UP!!!!" even if I have absolutely no desire whatsoever to have those pictures.)
(This icon I love because he's JUST SO DARLIN' in it, even though it rarely fits with whaterver I'm posting)
