BPAL review: Bastet
Surprisingly good, because I got it when I was buying imps from someone right after one of you made a joke about trying it out on the cat and wasn't actually expecting to like it. Good thing you did: I love this. :)
Bastet
BPAL description: From the Excolo collection. Luxuriant amber, warm Egyptian musk, fierce saffron and soft myrrh, almond, cardamom and golden lotus.
In vial:I'm not really familiar with any of these notes, so it's kind of hard to say. Dark and spicy. I can get the musk a little bit. There's a sharp note of something that people on the forums are calling cherry, although it doesn't really remind me of cherry.
Wet: More of the same, with the musk not as powerful, and the musk vanishes as it dries, as does that sharp note.
Dry: This is drying down into a nice, warm, soft, blend of notes, with no musk that I can smell.
Notes: Cat actually got up and walked away from this one. XD I think I can detect the almond, and I hope this top note is the amber, because I really like it (and comparing it with Machu Picchu, I think it *is* the amber). And the longer it is since I applied it, the more I like it. Whee! It's making my nose stuff up a bit, but not as dramatically as Jester, and I like it enough to deal with the stuffiness: it's not like I'm not stuffed up most of the time anyway.
I think ambers are good on me - I should track down one of the mostly-amber ones and see how it does. Finally, something besides food smells loving my skin!
