BPAL review: Seraphim, Machu Picchu

Seraphim:
BPAL description: From the Sin & Salvation collection. A perfume sacred to the highest of the angelic hosts: calla lily, wisteria, white sandalwood, Damascus rose and frankincense.

In vial: Light floral, with something with a bite, probably the frankincense.

Wet: Floral goes away, and the frankincense comes out to play. Getting a faint hint of the sandalwood, too.

Dry: Faint, mostly forgettable. The faint scent that remains is pleasant, but not much more can be said about it, other than it reminds me of guest soaps. As it ages, the soap gets more and more pronounced.

Notes: I poked the cat awake and stuck my wrist in front of her face. She sniffed a bit, then insisted on going back to sleep. The ingrate. We had pretty much the same reaction: meh. Ah well. Washed off because while I had no serious objection to it, I wanted to try something else.

Machu Picchu:
BPAL description: From the Wanderlust collection. Sweet tropical fruits burst through deep, wet rainforest boughs, enormous steamy blossoms, over thin mountaintop breezes, mingled with the soft, rich golden scent of Peruvian amber.

In vial: Totally fruity, with a hint of citrus.

Wet: Warm, smooth fruits, orangey without being bitingly so. Smells like that candy shaped like orange slices that comes in a tin.

Dry: As it dries, still fiantly orangey. Something else warm in there - probably the amber, but I'm still not sure I know what amber smells like. Eventually the orange vanishes leaving faint … something. The amber?

Notes: Cat couldn't figure out why I wanted her to sniff my wrist this time. And my response is, again, the same: meh. It fades too fast on me to be any sort of interesting.
