Trying to ID an anime in which a guy ends up adopting his .. Half-sister, I think. An old man dies and his family finds out that he has a young daughter nobody knows about, nobody wants to adopt her and a single man steps up and adopts her. ( Judging anime videos and none of us can recall the title!)

The Promoted to Parent page of TV Tropes didn't help much.

Thirding the other two identifications - it's Bunny Drop, Usagi Drop. The anime has 13 episodes and remains with the part of the manga were the girl is around six years of age. Totally beautiful slice-of-life family-building.

The manga jumps to her teenage years and had a wtf-ending for people with the usual western sensibilities. Personally the ending of the manga worked for me and was hinted at being a possible direction (if certain things didn't work out) consistently. I rather doubt that the last volume will be released in the west though. Although they did make the time jump.

Oh and technically he and the rest of the family believe she is his aunt, the late-lovechild of his grandfather.
