(no subject)

Hah! I have discovered something about my husband! Toby can't furrow his brow to save his life.

I was trying to work on the furrowed brow of the subject of my current painting for [personal profile] yhlee (check my new DeviantArt for original works for in-progress images) and needed lighting reference to see what the all-impotant vertical lines between the brows would look like when lit from below. So off to shine a flashlight in Toby's eyes, and it turns out that when he tries to look annoyed or angry, the flesh between his brows mostly ends up looking like normal. Me poking his brow trying to model it didn't help any, either.

I eventually found a line I could look at in vanishingly small increments of time as Toby attempted to think evil thoughts (he reported that it was his work and Jenny McCarthy he was trying to think about, both of which are guaranteed to get him fuming), but it was touch and go there for a while.

Hee! This is adorable.

I have gotten reasonably good at sketching Joe at the computer, but this is, er, a pose of limited utility. =)

LOL! He'll never be able to get angry, then. ;D

He came up behind me later last night and furrowed his brow at me, but I didn't hear him come up, was surprised, shrieked, and hit him. XD

I have now learned that is an evildoer sneaks up behind me, I will hit him or her with a really wimpy girly slap to the gut instead of a hit that will do damage. Fortunately for Toby, not so fortunately for me in the case of an evildoer sneaking up behind me.

Heh. Well at least he'll never have to worry about the protagonist guessing all his evil plans through the art of facial-thought recognition (what, that's totally a thing... Maybe... Was that a dream?)

Also how do you get two favourites on a WIP when I can barely get one on anything? This is do with that whole social thing and putting in effort, isn't it?! D:< ( <--- Furrow!)

Why yes, it is 4am and I've been drinking sugar all night, why do you ask? :D

Edit: Also you're really good at getting the sci-fi novel cover feel down. I'm not sure I've ever seen you produce anything quite so overtly sci-fi before. It's very cool. :)

Re: the favorites, it helps when one of the faves is from the person who commissioned the piece. :)

And thanks!
