So, this.

I got a Fitbit (had one for a month last year, it bricked on me, returned it and didn't bother with anoehr until now. Basically it's an elaborate pedometer.). On the Fitbit account page, where you log specific activities, I searched for "standing" to see how many calories they claim it burns. Image my surprise at one entry on the list of "standing" activities:

Making an arrest burns 301 calories per hour, BTW. Just in case you were inclined to do a little citizen vigilanteism.

I was totally expecting some form of standing coitus, which has got to burn more than 300 calories an hour.

Hey, some people are into both, if you know what I mean.

What gets me is that it lists child care as "light effort." Apparently they haven't met any of the children I know.

Child care is only light if the child is sleeping.

There are about 4000 things I (and hopefully 99.99% of all people) am more likely to do while standing than making an arrest. Like reading smut on my phone while waiting for the bus.

Ha!

I wonder if there are other entries for 'making an arrest.' Like 'making an arrest (sitting)' or 'making an arrest (swimming)' or 'making an arrest (via interpretive dance)'.
