After emailing the library staff asking if they were the new staff for our extended hours waiting for their shift to start, I've now go the info that they apparently belong to one of the groundskeepers and will be gone when his shift is over. I can only hope that he's at least going over and moving the cage around every so often, since they're stuck in there.
