(no subject)

For those of you picking "I gotta get me that set of shot glasses" on The Poll o'DOOOOOOOOM, I got the picture from this site, and presumably they ahve some in stock. Never used them, no clue if they're any good, and the shot glasses are probably found elsewhere as well.

But when poking around for Tacky Anime-Themed Merchandise, the intarweb does not disappoint!

This site features Saiyuki grooming kit! With your very own Saiyuki earpick! It could only be better if the earpick has one of the characters on it, but I expect it's a plain set of implements with the case having the Saiyuki logo and characters on it.

They also sell the One Piece First-Aid Kit! And a Descendant of the Dark perfume atomizer! And cloth napkin in plastic pouch! HikaGo napkin! Prince of Tennis bath kit! Get Backers sewing kit! Naruto hanky! Fullmetal Alchemist milk bottle and hanky!

There's plenty of Saiyuki swag in that page here and there - they ahve the shot glasses too, as well as a cellphone case (which I'd so get if I thought it'd fit my phone, but I've got a Sony Eriksson that isn't shaped like teh phone they've got in there. But there's also a Saiyuki Band-Aid case. Ah! And a set of Fruits Basket wind chimes in the shapes of all the zodiac! XD And FB coasters! Saiyuki portable around-the-neck ashtray tin featuring, strangely appropriately given his bitching about ashes, Hakkai.

Dude, this is like the motherlode of tacky crap. And I want so much of it. XD

the fma milk bottle and furuba windchimes punched penguin in the gut~~~ *_*

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-08-12 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
I really liked the windchime set, but OMG $75 for it!! Aargh!

[identity profile] redsnowpenguin.livejournal.com 2005-08-12 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
if you have access to clay and kiln and some cheap black/sepia underglaze...theoretically you can make your own furuba windchimes *_*

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-08-12 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
I think these might be the simple glass balls painted white and with black faces painted on them. Easy enough to do if one can get one's hands on the simple glass ball windchimes. :D

[identity profile] maxineofarc.livejournal.com 2005-08-12 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
I want those windchimes so bad.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-08-12 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
I'm looking at the $75 price tag and thinking ... all it requires is plain glass windchimes, a can of white spray paint, and a small bit of black paint... *thinks*

[identity profile] maxineofarc.livejournal.com 2005-08-12 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
If only I were crafty. ^_^

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-08-12 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
If I knew where to find the plain glass windchimes, I'd be tempted, but a quick poke around Google isn't finding anything.

[identity profile] redsnowpenguin.livejournal.com 2005-08-12 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
are those glass chimes nyo? <- penguin is just afraid that paint will put a damper on the nice "chime" sound ;_;

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-08-12 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
The furin are meant to be painted - I can find ones online that already have carp and stuff painted on them, but no plain ones. My mother's got one.

:O
OMG!
*grabby hands*

If they had Sanzo disposable panties? I'd be so there!

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-08-12 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
You'd totally have to fight me for them. XD

[identity profile] herchuckness.livejournal.com 2005-08-12 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
Curse you! *orders Saiyuki bandaid tin*

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-08-12 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
I'm tempted by the portable ashtray thing, for the hell of it.

[identity profile] wildelamassu.livejournal.com 2005-08-12 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
That kills me. Clearly, the merchandising people haven't actually familiarized themselves with the source material. "Let's use Hakkai!"

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-08-12 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
OTOH I can see Hakki giving a portable ashtray tins to Gojyo for Christmas. And getting it engraved or something so Gojyo won't throw it away out of guilt. XD

Holy. Shit.

Yes, I collect Christmas ornaments, but I'm trying to imagine myself putting the Saiyuki boys on my tree . . . and it's just not happening.

But how awesome would it be to have an Alphonse Elric tin set?! I mean, you could drop things in and have them rattle around and make hollow noises and clank!

(There's the little upset-looking Ed and Al coin pouches too, but I bet those don't rattle.)

But the best, the very best, is the Saiyuki PAPER FAN. You could thwap people on the head like Sanzo, with Sanzo!

*heads off laughing hysterically*

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-08-12 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
I see these things that I would never ever in a million years think of purchasing, but you slap an anime character on it and I WANT.

There's no reason whatsoever for me to spend $6 on Hikago lint-free eyeglass-cleaning paper,/i>, but it's pretty much only having spent $20ish on BPAL imps today that's keeping me from slapping the credit card down right there. I mean ... it's Sai!

man, I need some HikaGo icons

[identity profile] obviouslyanon.livejournal.com 2005-08-12 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
I also want those windchimes. For preferable under 20 bucks. And heck, the Naruto Band-aids! (http://www.animate-usa.com/HTML/IMAGES/MISC/BANDAGES_NARUTO.jpg) After all, he likes to eat noodle.

Thanks for this motherload of cheesy stuff that I won't buy, but am so tempted to. I've seen the Ed milkbottle before, but I seriously thought that was photoshoped.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-08-12 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
The US has nuthin' on Japan when it comes to merchandising. XD

[identity profile] cicer.livejournal.com 2005-08-12 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
...Words fail. Teh intarweb really does have everything!

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-08-12 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
It doesn't have a Totoro earstick, though. I have friends who saw one at an A-Kon many years ago, didn't get it, and are now kicking themselves for not getting it. I figure if I find one, I'll totally pwn and can get ... well, something -or-other out of them. But alas, I have yet to find one online.
