Trauma!!

We have returned from the vet, where we took the cats for their regular examination. It was traumatic, to say the least, as Sora managed to befoul himself twice: once by peeing in fear as I put him in to his carrier, and once by peeing *and* pooing in fear while waiting his turn at the vet.

The tech took him back to rinse him off before the exam and he literally climbed the wall, the vet reported back, and told us in light of this to remind them next time, if he fouls himself, to go ahead and do the exam with him covered in it so he doesn't hurt himself while going ballistic.

Sora is now at home and feeling much better, mostly skulking about the place and jumping at every little thing.

Nefer was not happy to be contained, transported, and examined, but she was much less dramatic about the whole thing.

Poor Sora. >.<

Has your vet ever suggested Feliway? Rufus was never terrified of the vet (rather he went pissy berserker) but it seemed to help calm him down.

I had a cat who would foul a carrier (and himself) but would ride in the car (on a towel either in an open box or on a lap) with no problem. I don't remember exactly *how* I discovered this. :)

Strange!

(Sora is now skulking around the office carefully sniffing the Swiffered floor where most of his pee had gone and then flehming [Flehmening?])

Oh no!

Poor Sora. What a loss of dignity! He must have been a MESS.

I've had them pee before, but not poop themselves.

What an enormous Mama's boy he is :)

He needs cuddling, obviously.

Poor Sora :(

Luckily none of ours ever soil themselves when we take them to the vet, though on the whole they're usually not happy about it. Poor noo-noo cries the entire time she's in a vehicle, whether that be a car or a bus though. Jools on the other hand loves it when she gets there and has a good old explore and gets the "new friend" to give her scritches. Of course this is the same cat who eats worming tablets from the hand as if they were treats, so she's a bit strange to begin with. :D
