Anyone here with experience using Illustrator's (I'm on CS5) Live Trace tool? I can get it to trace easily enough ... but I can't draw on or color on the image afterward! Even after clicking "expand". I can adjust the lines I've created with the direct selection tool, but the paintbrush and the blob paintbrush give me the little circle-with-a-slash image and I can't figure out what to do to convert or whatever the image so I can draw and paint on the damn thing!

I've drawn a very nice little koi - I would LIKE to color the damn thing in!

In conclusion: Illustrator can bite Mello's fabulous ass.

Try the livepaint tool. It's a paint bucket.
You have to select the thing you want to livepaint then click on the area you ant to fill with the livepaint tool, it's really neat :) I can make a vid if you don't get it from my text

If you could make a vid, that would be great. I watched another video on the intartubes and there was no paint bucket tool on mine where it was on the other one, just a spray can.


I wonder why I can't just paint shapes underneath it or on top of it with the paintbrush? I'd like to put spots on it. :) (If all else fails, I paint the damn thing in Photoshop and then convert to vector at the end...)
