Best $5 I've spent in a long time

After we booked the honeymoon cruise, a friend clued me in to cruisefish.com, a site where you can pay $5 (the search itself is only $ .99, but you can only buy credits in $5 increments) and set up an alert for the cruise and type of cabin you booked. It keeps track of price changes, and if the price drops lower than you paid, you can leap onto the website of whatever cruise you booked (or contact your travel agent and get them to do it for you) and get a refund.

Since I set up the alert, three price drops have taken $240 off our total fare, and I've seen it in time to fill out the form and send it in. As we've already paid in full, we can either get cabin upgrades or credit to spend on stuff on the ship. Best $5 I've spent in a long time!

Hey, thanks for the tip!

Where are you going for your cruise? Which cruise line and embarkation port??

Carnival's 7-day Caribbean cruise leaving from Galveston. We've taken it before, but it was (a) the only one leaving the day after the wedding and (b) enjoyable previously. :) That was the cruise that a couple we know (who tipped us off to the cruisefish.net site) used to convince us and a few others that we actually would like cruising as it's possible to find areas of the ship without lots of people in to just hang out.

Just got back from a Royal Caribbean 7-day out of Galveston to Cozumel - Cayman - Jamaica (Falmouth). Would like to do Carnival's one that goes to Key West next January if the timing is right - still waiting for the 2012-13 school year calendar to figure that out! I'd also be willing to do Carnival's one to Montego Bay, Cayman (since we didn't plan well for that this time), and Cozumel (even though it would be the third time there - just can't seem to avoid Cozumel - although we'd go somewhere different once there too). I also hear Princess is coming to Galveston.

Ours is the Montego Bay/Cayman/Cozumel one. We did it before and we don't have too much of a desire to do the shore excursions again. Maybe get off in Grand Cayman and wander around a little bit, but not a whole lot else. I think we both want a week in which to sit around and do nothing. XD
