BPAL review: Katharina

Katharina is the one that I got instead of Kathmandu, which is what I ordered.

Katharina

BPAL description: Form the Illyria collection. A strong, willful blend with a soft, utterly lovely soul: white musk with a trickle of bright, sharp apricot and orange blossom.

In vial: Fruity - I can catch both the orange and the apricot. It smells like a fruity drink. The sort with an umbrella in it.

Wet: Apricot. Sort of smoothed out, not as sharp as a real apricot.

Dry: Apricot dying down a bit, the musk coming out. After ten minutes or so, the apricot gone, just the musk left, which has a hint of something off about it. The slightly off smell faded after about 30 minutes, but what's left is just blah. Two hours later, there is a trace of a pleasant scent, but there's nothing to really recommend it over something else.

Notes: Cat would rather play than sniff my wrist. This is the one that I like the least so far: the orange exists only in the vial, the apricot fades quickly, and the musk left is just meh. Slightly better a while later, but doesn’t make me want to run out and buy a bottle the way Neo-Tokyo did.

ETA: Four hours later and it's pretty much gone - no staying power, this one.

Heh, I love that you include your cat's opinion in these reviews. Mine swerved out of the way when I went to pet her after I tried them on. XD (probably because I was excited and tried them all at once.)

Well, it's not like there's anyone else here to test them on. XD Got the idea from [livejournal.com profile] oyceter, who gets her rats' opinions on them. Their opinions are mostly "food" or "not food."

The cat's opinions are probably more accurate anyhow - I held up a bpal-ed wrist for the boyfriend to smell and he said "........crayons?"

You were talking about needing an icon - [livejournal.com profile] speccygeekgrrl made a great BPAL icon which you could probably use if you ask. Random heads-up.
