Dear Religious Person who I am Assuming is Christian;

If you're going to be praying publicly in a restaurant, you might consider reading this Slacktivist post down to the bit about why he doesn't put a Jesus fish on his car, because he's right: when you get up and walk away from your table without bussing it in a restaurant where you are encouraged to bus your own table, my first thought is not going to be "Look at that inconsiderate jerk," but "Look at that inconsiderate Christian."

I understand this is a failing in myself, in that I am applying one specific example generally and painting a large number of people with your brush, but that being said, it's something you still might want to consider, and bus your table next time.

Perplexed,

Choose Your Own Response!

1) I'm not concerned with earthly things! (just the food)

2) I'm creating demand; if there was nothing to be cleaned up, they wouldn't hire someone to clean up! I'm a job creator!

3) That person isn't a REEEEAAAAAAAL CHRISTIAN!!!

I am often so confused about whether or not we're supposed to bus our own tables. McAlistair's Deli, for example: some have trash cans and you're supposed to bus your own tables and some do not. Other places have trash cans out in the open, but people come bus your tables. Yet other places have no visible trash receptacles and yet expect you to know that the hole over there by the coffee pot is where you're supposed to throw things away. If, like me, you frequently dine at off hours to avoid the crowds, you might not actually have any other customers to gauge what your post-dining activity should be. I wish all restaurants had signs or instructions. *sigh*

There are a ton of places in College Station where I'm like, "Obviously, I should bus my table now. But... to where?" And then it seems like I'm not supposed to. And I am horribly confused!

Also, total agreement re Slacktivist in general and that post in specific.

I usually hover until someone has mercy on me and asks what I want, then I say, 'my dishes...' in a really vague way. I'm so awesome.
