When we got married, we paid a tiny little print shop to do our invitations on their letterpress!

You could buy an old letterpress letter, ink it, and use that as an initial letter? Like this one.

What do you mean by "a letterpress machine?" You'd be nuts to go for a Vandercook, but if you actually spend much time mucking around with press stuff then a tabletop platen press, the sort of thing people use to do cards and coasters and so on, might be a good investment. I've thought of getting one myself, because I need another Thing like I need a hole in my head. The thing is they are heavy and they do take up space.

However, seriously, there are lots of people who will print stuff for you. Let them deal with it.

No space, no time, and we need to put the money towards other things. It would be Yet Another Hobby that I start and don't do much with. :D

...but you can dream about it, LOL. :D

Why not?

It would justify going through with planning a public wedding, after all. :-)

what was that?
You can't not buy a letterpress machine to print your own wedding invitations?

;)

Can you buy one to print MY invitations? :P

...Or can you?

What would you do with it *after* you print your wedding invitations?

Then keep referring to the wise spam words of your journal entry and be strong.

I have recently encountered some websites that make the impulse to buy either a really (small) letterpress or one of the toy/scrapbooking substitutes even harder. I say this in solidarity (I will also not buy a small letterpress).
