New rug!

Just got back from running around. I finally broke down and had a thingy installed in my car which allows me to plug in the iPhone and play it through the radio WITHOUT the interference that I normally get when using the plug-in thingy that plays it through the radio (because the stations in town bleed all over the *&^*^ spectrum). It cost $150 including installation, but considering that the plug-in variety costs half that, plus doesn't work very well and ends up with the wires breaking after a year of heavy use, since I plug my iPhone in to listen to music, podcasts, or audiobooks every time I'm in the car, and really, it's way more cost-effective.

Anyway, so we left my car to be worked on and went to Lowe's for a few things and to take another look at the rugs, and ended up with the one pictures below. It claims to be a Persian design, and was made in India, and it looks sort of pre-faded, like it's seen some use, which I rather like. :D

Works much better than the round one - I couldn't tell you explicitly why I didn't like the round one, but there was sort of a tension whenever I looked at it that isn't there when I look at this one.

SOmeone, I think it was [livejournal.com profile] estara, mentioned that a plain rug would look good with the fireplace and I agree, but I decided that I really wanted an Oriental style rug, and that since our furniture was all solid colors it would look better with a patterned rug.

Woo!

The old rug is currently rolled up and draped over the chair while Sparky the Roomba does the master bedroom (full of little bits of Styrofoam from the bed frame packing materials), and then it'll go in there. No pictures of the whole of the master bedroom yet as it and my office are the last two bastions of unpacked stuff. :)
