Hah!

This is the first place we've lived in since I got either of the cats in which there was a window placed so you can see someone leaving the house through the front door and walking outside. Toby went out to check the mail just now. Sora caught sight of him through the window.

MIND=BLOWN.

Sora watched Toby intently and once he came back inside, Sora scuttled off nervously to contemplate this new and frightening world in which That Guy, as we joke Sora thinks of Toby, could actually enter and move around in the World Outside the Walls.

And then he caught sight of a finch on the feeder and forgot all about his existential crisis.

We are fairly convinced the cats think we just hang out in the garage all day (at least the boy cats). Kara and Mali were indoor/outdoor so they were aware of The World- and while Mali was with us, she would watch out the apartment window and when she saw my car would race to the garage/house door. :) Tycho (our Sora equivalent) has only ever gotten outside once, and he did his high-pitched distress mews while pacing the front patio with his eyes all O.O
(He doesn't cope well with life...) :-D

Nefer has this stuffed Hamtaro that she carries around while meowing when she wants attention. We have often found it right outside the garage door when one or both of us are gone. Our hypothesis is that she thinks we stay in the garage all day. :)
