Baumkuchen
Jan. 13th, 2015 01:46 amSome of you may remember a couple of months ago, when I was looking for cake recipes for Thanksgiving. I discovered the existence of Baumkuchen then, a cake traditionally cooked on a spit, where you coat it with layers of batter so you end up, when you remove the spit, with a cylindrical cake composed of layers of cake like tree rings.
I had never heard of it before…and it turns out it’s a very popular thing in Japan.
