Look! Look! A meme without Cleolinda popping up! )

Anyway. Very good news to come; will type it in after I finish my celebratory nachos.

You guys remember the Interview from Hell? Well, they called me today and said they wanted me. :) Yay! Anyway, the position is IT Librarian over at TCU, and the primary responsibility is maintaining the web page, in addition to doing various coding and software things and basic software troubleshooting and making sure the electronic databases talk to each other, helping people with digitization projects, and taking a turn on the reference desk like all the other staff members, which is apparently to keep us humble.

OK, technically I haven't officially been offered the job yet - they have to send my name and the recommendation over to the Provost, who then decides whether or not to follow the recommendation and then sends a letter of invitation, but the dean said there's no reason they wouldn't accept the recommendation. And I don't think I've got any major enemies in the Provost's office, so I think I'm OK there. :)

A big thanks to all the people who looked at the webpage and gave me commentary on it - my presentation went over very well, and the dean of libraries, who called me, said that the search committee was raving about it. I know that they all seemed very impressed that I'd done my small, unscientific user survey, which leads me to think what on earth the other candidates had done that me doing what seems like the OBVIOUS THING TO DO really impressed them. Maybe it was my madz PowerPoint skillz.
