Jan. 24th, 2004 11:58 pmWell, just took a wander through the Penciljack forums and noted three people posting who are submitting to the Tokyopop manga contest. Looked at their art. It's stunning. Felt very inadequate until I looked at the thread with their stories ... IMHO, they're pretty typical. Nothing outstanding. I've seen it a million places.
And they tend to have like fifty-eleven characters, with really worked-out backgrounds. Me? I've got two, who have backgrounds but aren't letting enough out to overwhelm the story. Their stories are also action-oriented, the sort of thing you'd see published by Marvel or Image right now, and I don't think that's what Tokyopop is looking for.
So, I'm feeling much better now. And I've got the page roughs halfway done. Now to gosteal from be inspired by Blade of the Immortal again.
