Eee!

FYI, A Bride's Story (a.k.a. Otoyomegatari) by Kaoru Mori is coming out from Yen Press this week. (Amazon claims Vol 1 is available now, but we all know how Amazon's release dates for manga correspond with reality...)

My squeefest rec from 2009 (short version: Handcrafts! Detailed art! Random anthropologist! Although I note the links I used then are now all broken, as it's being published in the US. Go to the first link above to see samples).

I think you can trust Amazon on this; I got my copy from B&N last week and saw it in Borders yesterday. ;)

So gorgeous!

Thank you again for your rec a while ago--I'm glad it's been licensed.

Oh, it's here! I haven't been paying attention to current releases lately, and a little behind on the news. Yay, and thanks for the heads up.

I will say I'm a little disappointed in the title, as the overall arc of the story makes it clear that it should be The Brides' Stories, there being three protagonists taken in turn. But this is not at all clear from the first two volumes.

I'm excited it's out! I read a little of it on MangaFox when it was being scanlated and I'm delighted I can get it into my grabby hands.

I'd actually believe Amazon's date in this case, since they delivered my copy over two weeks ago. :D

Yen Press did a wonderful job with the printing and binding, btw--it absolutely does the work justice. I just hope it sells well enough for them to keep this level of quality for the next volumes.

Awesome! I'm ordering it as we speak. :)

I bought my copy of A Bride's Story in a Barnes and Noble store 2 weeks ago. Definitely available.

That looks quite interesting, I think I might pick it up. If nothing else I can drool over the artwork. I seem to admire anyone who has enough patience to draw more than 3 buttons on a shirt, let alone depict fully embroidered and beaded items. XD
