I just went to switch the laundry from the washer to the dryer and right inside the space where you put the fabric softener, in the top of the middle spindle/spinner thinger, there's a pink toy mouse, one of the cat's toys. Not entirely sure how it got up there - how it got *into* the washer isn't a mystery, since it was most likely sitting in the dirty clothes and got tossed in - but the spindle/spinner thinger goes almost all the way up to the lid of the washing machine, with just a very small clearance. It wasn't in there when I started it since I put fabric softener in. Guess it got flung around during the spin cycle. Strange, that.
I think I'm going to toss it - it got a lot of fabric softener on it, and that can't be good for the cat to ingest. She's got lots and lots of other mice.

All washing-machines are cleverly disguised time/space continuum devices.
Not entirely sure why, but I'm working on a theory involving catastrophic sock-shortage in the future (possibly in a parallel universe), wormholes and a piece of string.
Could be that fabric-softener (and/or toy-mice) plays a significant role as well.
