I didn't give the wedding itself much attention (the internet did it for me), but I gotta say, I love that dress. :)

My mother and I had to explain to my father exactly why The Dress was so newsworthy, how it will affect wedding trends and for how long. It was probably at least a 15 minute long conversation involving references to Lynda Bird Johnson.

Yes, I was grateful for this too! Was also really surprised by how elegant the dress was, given the talk that it would be 'fashion-forward' and 'groundbreaking' if the Alexander McQueen designer did it. In the end the trend it's inspiring is sleeves and narrow V-necks? I think I can deal with that.

IKR? Having said that, it is rather forward, I think in that it's got some very traditional elements and still looks sleek and modern-ish.
