(no subject)

I got home from work today to find a message from the post office on my door. They'd attempted to deliver a package today, which I have to go pick up tomorrow. Now, there's nothing I'm expecting this week - I've got BPAL imps on order* and a few other things, but I'm not expecting any of them until at least next week. So I thought I'd open the matter of my mysterious package up to the democratic process and vote on it.

Oh - if you know what it is, because you sent it or are psychic, don't tell. It's far more fun to guess. XD

[Poll #537141]

* i am a sheep baa.

[identity profile] rachelmanija.livejournal.com 2005-07-22 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
Are you totally stoked about your upcoming package from TEH SEKRIT PROJEKT?

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-07-22 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
Why, yes. Yes, I am. (I have OOOOO PAPERWORK that I need to remember to print out, sign, and email back ASAP, too.)*

* for anyone reading this - no, it's not what you think, not that kind of paperwork, but something totally different but still way cool. We're still trying to achieve what you thought it was. XD

I've got BPAL imps on order

me too, the wait is driving me nuts.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-07-22 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
Yup. XD I ordered it shortly after A-Kon, so the 2nd week of June or so, so it's about time to start poking the mailbox in anticipation.

I've even forgotten which ones I ordered, so it'll be a total surprise. XD

[identity profile] magicnoire.livejournal.com 2005-07-22 02:52 pm (UTC)(link)
You should get a Click n'Ship (provided the USPS software is cooperative with the Labbies) when they ship it out. :)

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-07-22 04:28 pm (UTC)(link)
About half the things I order from various places have uncooperative USPS software issues, and once I even got an package the day before I got the notification (which was a bit disconcerting until I figured out what was going on). XD

[identity profile] magicnoire.livejournal.com 2005-07-22 04:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm a regular on the BPAL forums so you should see the number of times that it comes up:

"Wait! Is it possible to get my order without a CnS?"
"Wait! Where's MY CnS?"
"Wait! I haven't received a CnS but everyone else is getting theirs. Should I email the Lab?"

I'll keep my mouth shut about the possibility of it being imps though, since that takes the fun out of it. I have a general idea of where the Lab is in their orders. XD

(And I lose at life! I wasn't paying attention last night at all when I answered the poll. I should have chosen the head!)

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-07-22 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
XD I did have an idea of how likely that option was, and it's more likely to some miniscule extent than the AX prints, which I knew were mailed at lunchtime yesterday although perhaps not more likely that a head.

Of course, I've gotten the package already this morning; I'm just stretching the revelation out to make people's anticipation rise over a completely trivial matter. XD

[identity profile] pzb.livejournal.com 2005-07-22 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
While the head was a tempting answer, I would guess it's probably just something you forgot you had swaped/ordered. Though I don't know how....I'm usually chomping at the bit for packages, though given that I never get any, that's probably why. :D

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-07-22 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
I usually don't get any packages, but this year I've gotten quite a few, due to a lot of online ordering and manga-swapping. And I hadn't gotten any for a few weeks, but I realized that I've got ... *counts* ... four packages that should be arriving next week - yours, manga supplies, the Bollywood video, TEH SEEKRIT PROJEKT package - and, possibly, the BPAL imps. So it'll be quite a haul. And add one more if I use the rest of my A-Kon art show money to buy the Photoshop plugin that makes screentone-like patterns from pictures anf photographs. (I really ought to get that soon - it'll come in handy in a week or so.)

If it really is a head, I'll be sure to post pictures. XD

[identity profile] pzb.livejournal.com 2005-07-22 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
Whoo hoo! Head spam! XD

[identity profile] pzb.livejournal.com 2005-07-22 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
Okay....and I have to ask a really stupid question - what the hell are BPAL imps? Googling that just ran me in circles... XD

I would like to try these, but sadley I am Canadian. *gah*

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-07-22 05:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, if you've got PayPal, they'll ship to Canada. Failing that, there's a lot of people who swap and sell on eBay and on various forums (the BPAL site forums, for one) and on LJ communities here - just do an 'interests' search for BPAL to find them.

[identity profile] lady-noremon.livejournal.com 2005-07-22 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll probbally use PayPal then (w00t!). WHat do these smell like anyway? Do the actually smell like what they claim? Or do they smell crappy, like some of Avon's stuff?

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-07-22 07:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I have no idea yet. XD Lots of people like them, but since perfumes smell different on different people according to body chemistry, the only thing to do is ry it yourself. [livejournal.com profile] yhlee has some reports in her LJ and links to other people's reports, so you can poke through and find some.

BPAL is suffering from popularity and is 6 to 8 weeks or so behind on orders, ebcause they blend each one on order. If you want to get it faster, eBay or one of the LJ communities is likely to work better. :D

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-07-22 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. What [livejournal.com profile] rachelmanija said. XD YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED!

It seems like a good half my friendslist is ordering them, trading them, and sampling them, then writing reports on them. I couldn't stand it any longer and joined the collective. Baa.

[identity profile] frostedelves.livejournal.com 2005-07-22 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
Damn it, I just got sucked in. First, the curiousity from whatinthehell is a BPAL Imp? and then, the irresistable temptation to DO IT because I have more money as a working adult than I did as a kid at the Renaissance Festival looking at all the wonderful vials and potion-bottles.

I don't even wear perfume, but the little colored sniffy vials...

Incidentally, I have L hair. On purpose, due to some seriously hot cosplayers, but before I read the manga (thank you for posting!). I can't remember if I ever actually introduced myself and said so. Er. Hi.

And damn it. :)

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-07-22 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
I remained haughtily above such populist things as BPAL until I made the mistake of going to the site and reading the descriptions.

I like perfume; I just don't wear it. And most of it gives me a headache.

Incidentally, I have L hair.

Pictures! Pictures! XD

I can't remember if I ever actually introduced myself and said so. Er. Hi.

Since I tend to check my userinfo often and friend back everyone who friends me, I tend to have read people's journals for a while before they finally wander by and say "Hi!" so it feels sort of strange, because I think I've been introduced to them already... the weirdnesses of life online. There's poeple I feel like I know (for internet values of 'know') but I've never commented on their blogs or journals, or replied to them on whatever newsgroup they frequent, so they don't know me from Adam's off ox, which is a strange, strange feeling.

[identity profile] thomasyan.livejournal.com 2005-07-22 06:12 am (UTC)(link)
When I did the "who on your reading list have you met" meme, there were one or two people where I had to remind myself, no, Thomas, you've never actually met them in meatspace.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-07-22 02:41 pm (UTC)(link)
The people I know on my list who I've met, for the most part I've met before I knew their LJ names. There's a few that have wandered by at cons and said hi, I'm < blah >, but the ones of longer acquaintance were all pre-LJ friendships.

[identity profile] magicnoire.livejournal.com 2005-07-22 04:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Now I feel like I should be taking pictures of the labels on the BPAL bottles...

The one for Chaos Theory 2: The Butterfly Effect is gorgeous.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-07-22 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
* And my mother sent me something from Amazon.com out of the blue a month or so back, because she thought I'd like it. Heh. So that's another possibility.

[identity profile] mrissa.livejournal.com 2005-07-22 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
A glass head. From Kosta Boda.

Maybe I'm the only person in the world (besides [livejournal.com profile] timprov) who wants a $500 glass head.

But they are so cool.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-07-22 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
Sounds cool. I expect one day I'd come home to find it in pieces and the cat on the other side of the apartment very exaggeratedly intently staring out the window.

[identity profile] i-smile.livejournal.com 2005-07-22 05:38 am (UTC)(link)
You know you are getting too sucked into pirate AUs when the first thing that pops into mind when you read the word "head" isn't the thing sitting on your neck.

Mystery packages! <3 My vote goes to "forgotten doujinshi" or the perfume; it's so easy to forget these things.

[identity profile] usmangaka.livejournal.com 2005-07-22 12:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Last time I recieved one of those notes from the post office I got all excited and was like "Yay! Unexpected package!" So I rushed down to the post office with that expectant gleam in my eyes only to find waiting for me... a damn aol cd.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-07-22 02:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Ouch! Now that's just cold!
