Ah, December...

...the time of year when Amazon boxes arrive and stack up and you're not sure whether it's something you ordered for yourself, something you ordered for someone else, something someone else ordered for you, or something someone else ordered for you that accidentally got sent to you.

but, but, but .... at least there are boxes.

A colleague of mine calls this "bitching and moaning at a high level" - he said it to me when I complained that my new, fairly expensive workstation pc had arrived, but I hadn't had time yet to set it up.

I still haven't finished setting it up either...

Who said I was complaining? I was making an observation.

:) Toby emailed me that he'd gotten two boxes addressed to him today that didn't match his tracking numbers. Mom had emailed me last week to tell me she thought something she bought might be going to me instead of her and not to open it, please. Toby then realized that one of them did match a tracking number he had, Mom emailed to say that Amazon now thinks it's sending that package to her, and now I get to go home, open Toby's other package, and see if the paperwork inside sheds light on the mystery. :)

I've done this before for Toby - one year, his parents came up here for Christmas so his mom just shipped all his Amazon stuff here, not realizing that he had no way of figuring out which ones were those and which ones were the ones he ordered, so I got to open his packages and match them to his wishlist. Luckily, he'd ordered stuff for me from Amazon earlier and had already received it.

Wow. Well, at least the two of you have a system which seems to work.

We are also notified not to look at the From address on any box shipped to the other person during this time, in case that gives away what it might be. XD

(And the Mystery Box turned out to be a Christmas present to him from a friend of ours.)

The time of year when I'm frequently embarrassed because the UPS guys come almost every other day, and I always seem to still be in my pajamas at lunch time...

HA! Sounds like our house...sort of...but we also get a LOT of LL Bean packages on top of the Amazon packages...but luckily it's all my mom ordering from LL Bean so there's no confusion there! XD LOL

Mom contacted me this morning to let me know the Amazon box is showing up at our place after all, addressed to me, but she gave us tracking & order numbers so I think we'll be able to ID it. XD

My husband ships everything to his work, which helps.

And Toby works at home, which doesn't. XD Well, ok, he tends to get most FedEx packages before I get home, so he can squirrel away anything he gets that he knows he bought, but we're on the dead end of the UPS route, and usually get packages at 6:30 PM (up to 8PM at this time of year). Heh.
