Yo, Reddit Secret Santa match!
If you're here internet-stalking me, these are various places you can find me:
@dreamwidth
@livejournal (mirror of DW)
telophase14 on Steam*
@DeviantArt
Amazon wishlist
Archive of Our Own
Twitter
Metafilter
And a rough list of interests: science, skepticism, ghost stories**, making perfume oils, sewing funky quilts and bags, cats, nifty technology, podcasts, European and Asian history, digital painting, cracktastic manga, interesting nonfiction (biographies, science and the history of science, kitchen science, books that go in-depth of single subjects like Salt and Stiff - check my Amazon wishlist for lots of things that seemed interesting at the time), funky socks. My fiction tastes are currently in flux, and I haven't been able to find many books that really satisfied me in a while, but if you want to send me books you like with an explanation as to why, I'll give 'em a go.
Bandwidth is not a problem if you want to gift me something digital: Steam, Kindle books, whatever.
* The only thing I've gotten from there so far is Civ V, which EATS my BRAIN. Game tastes: first-person shooters make me seasick as does Portal, but I like puzzle games like Professor Layton, Kingdom Hearts because I am SUCH a GIRL, Echo Bazaar, Amanita Designs' Samorost 1 & 2 and the free web bits of Machinarium, loved Okami for the art and basis in Japanese mythology, and have been enjoying the hell out of watching my boyfriend go through Assassin's Creed II and Brotherhood. I love the Civ games for the logistics bits and not so much the combat (but bounced off the Sims).
** A bit odd after the skepticism, but I've got a background in anthropology, and ghost stories fall squarely into modern folklore. Love hearing 'em and what they tell us about ourselves.
