late-night drug-induced ramblings...
DVD burner installed good. UPS that I bought also installed good - now I can compute and art away during thunderstorms, safe in the knowledge that if the power goes out I can at least save what I'm working on in the five minutes of battery backup I've got. I've got the most important stuff on my computer - the comics stuff - backed up to disk now, and I am attempting to burn a movie (the fansub of Howl's Moving Castle, in case you gave a damn) to DVD in DVD-player type format to see if I can. I'll know in 1 hour and 42 minutes ... I don't think I'll last until it's done.
Anyway, in the process of installing said things and hauling the CPU around and crawling under the desk, I appear to have pulled a muscle right under my left shoulderblade. ARG.
Look,
thomasyan, a subject line! Now you can find this entry with ease! Too bad you won't want to!
ETA: Amazingly, for once, a narcotic has worked for me! I usually have ZERO effect from opioid-type drugs, but I took a couple of hydrocodone from a previous prescription (almost full bottle, due to it having NO EFFECT WHATSOEVER at the time) on the off chance it'd do something, and the pain is now lessened, I'm very very sleepy, and I'm now kinda goofy. Nothing like what narcotics are supposed to do to you, from what I understand.
You were all just dying to hear that, weren't you? I shall now go be quietly drug-goofy in this corner and annoy the cat by poking her.

Sorry about the shoulderblade. My own left shoulderblade is where my back hurts, although apparently that's because it's where the nerves connect or something and is actually one of the few places between my neck and my legs that has no detectable damage.
Narcotics are supposed to just make you not hurt, but the effect you report is quite common too. They work as intended for me, except for codeine, which just makes me throw up.

I think the muscle was just in spasm, and not fully injured, since it's not hurting this morning - muscle relaxants got rid of it. It had been hurting off and on over the past couple of weeks, but crawling around last night made it go OWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW. Codeine has no effect on me - I don't get the free-floating feeling that all is right with the world that friends report, I don't get a reduction in pain, I don't get sleepy, and - it's always been prescribed to me for coughing - it has no effect at all on my coughing. Over-the-counter Robitussin does better. It's like drinking water.
The hydrocodone was making me slightly sick to my stomach, because I hadn't eaten anything in hours, I think. So I made myself eat some crackers and go to bed. And now I shall go to the grocery store and if I remember, I'll check to see if they have any boxes I can mail DVDs in to get the backups I made last night to you.

And, you know, I conceivably *could* want to find this *comment* of mine again someday, but I'll grant you it's not exactly specifically your post. Still, I do appreciate the Subject line :)
