(no subject)

I've got a post up on the Hooded Utilitarian today. :) I dropped a comment on a post a few weeks back about the differences in visual language in comics and manga, and Noah, the grand poobah of HU, invited me to expand it into a post. So I did!

Neat article.

I don't know if you can edit it once it's posted, but just for future reference, tankoubon are the individual volumes (in fact, that's literally what it means), not the magazines. The magazines are just called magazines (zasshi (雑誌), if you need a Japanese word). Also in Japan, the English word "comics" is often used interchangeably with tankoubon to mean the graphic novel form as opposed to the magazine chapters.

Every time you mention the Hooded Utilitarian, I see it as the Hooded Unitarian. Who is apparently a spandex-clad liberal superhero.
