For those of you with mobile devices other than iPhone OS-enabled devices (as I've got an iPhone and access to an iPad), could you go to:
http://library.tcu.edu/pda_new/index_test.asp
and tell me if it looks reasonable, or if it looks broken?
This is only PARTLY finished - the link colors will be different, and the sections will be highlighted a soft color when active, and none of the links currently go to a page with a new design because I haven't got there yet.
ETA: Also, I'm editing the CSS file and working on the real version of the page, so it may break for you while I'm working on it. I'm aware of this. :D
What I'm asking is: does it look something like this? Or is something broken so it's unusable? What tweaks could be done to make it better used on your device? (If I can incorporate them without breaking it on other devices, I'll do it.)
(UPDATE 1 "More" is now adjacent to "pm" instead of flaoting right as in the image below because of line-width problems on a coworker's phone causing it to push down half-a-line. I may see if "More" is even necessary - making today's hours a link to the larger hours page may work. Hmmmm.)

Also, if your device is not capable of CSS, it should degrade gracefully to something like this:

THANK YOU!

The one thing: there's a horizontal line across "Today's Hours" all the way to "More". I see the same line in Firefox 3.6.3 on WinXP, where it's possible to discern that the first li isn't tall enough; it's the border-bottom on that first item. The other list items and borders look fine.

(I should probably add a note explaining that I'm editing as we speak, so things may change and break.)

That horizontal scroll bar. Hmmm. I may have to find some Android, Blackberry, etc. emulators and see if I can use them - I'm a bit worried that things like long database names may push off the edge of the screen once I get to them.
Thanks!

I would request better return/back navigation wherever possible. Like a "return to searching" on the catalog results list, and a "return to main menu" on the search page, etc. Using built-in navigation on these devices can be a real pain. Doesn't need to be big, just a tiny back button on every page would be fine.

I think I could put a small back button at the bottom of most pages, from what I know of the current site structure (we're adding a couple of things to it, which spurred the redesign, and I'm not 100% sure of the final structure).
The catalog results, however ... let's just say that our catalog is a very special snowflake and thus I will have to ask our catalog guy if it could be done and not assume that something that seems so easy could be done. (We bang our heads a lot against it. XD)
