Also time to point out that I'm posting under filter a series of letters my mother wrote home when we lived in the Serengeti National Park. I'm relatively new to the manga scene, but have been watching anime for years and years.

Hola! I'm Kawcrow, an almost-21-year-old senior ~~GYAAAHH~~ Creative Writing major and geek who lives in Texas and goes to school in Atlanta. I would love long walks on the beach if I lived anywhere remotely near water. I came for the manga analyses and stayed for the snark and kitty pictures.

I keep mixing you up with

cleolinda because your MJ icon and her Galadriel icon (http://www.livejournal.com/userpic/8369522/1427760) look nothing alike. I guess my brain picks up on gently curling hair, fuzzy filter, and 3/4 view of head to the right and completely ignores things like, say, color, close-up-ness, and TOTALLY DIFFERENT ACTRESSES AND CHARACTERS.

Heeeee! At least I'm getting conflated with someone cool. I've had MJ as my default icon longer than any other default icon I've had, though I'll have to change if it I ever change my journal from ice-cream-colors. But I will try to use my Manly Ninja Icons over here more to be more recognizable. :D

:D The conflations never lasts longer than a few seconds, because teh contents of your posts are dissimilar, but on my friends page I jsut ahve this sort of default assumption of her when I see your icon. Corrected a moment later when I see you're not recapping Lost or frantically tearing your hair out over a book deadline, of course. XD

Dorky Sasuke is always good, though. XD

I friended you when I stumbled over your lovely manga analyses--I learned "close reading" through poetry/prose--and, to a limited extent, visual art--but watching it adapted to combination media has been an eye-opener and an educational experience. I think I get more out of manga now thanks to you and

coffee_and_ink.

There haven't been too many kitty pictures recently, due to a malfunctioning camera, but I did take a few blurry pics of my cat last night with my cameraphone, so they should be up once I transfer them off the phone. :)

i also find our writting intriguing and feel we are almost in the same boat to reach our goals (manga publishing. though you are much more dedicated.) ^_^

I am an editor at a manga publishers -- you are familiar with us; I believe we've already approached you on some topics, but I'd like to keep my journal and my work separate, if possible, so that's enough of that. I read your break down of paneling and characterization and thought they were brilliant. I've used them while doing portfolio reviews at conventions. (Every so often I get an urge to see if I could shape them up into a book, because there's really very little out there that is concerned with layout, but then I realize what a nightmare it would be to either get permissions or to ask people to draw sample pages, and I go lie in a dark corner and whimper until the urge goes away.)
