Garden pics

[livejournal.com profile] myrialux was getting tired of the fountain filling with leaves and dirt, and I was tired of it becoming a haven for mosquito larvae, so we got the lawn guys to clean it out once more, then threw a big tarp over it and weighted it down with bricks. No idea how it'll last in the wind, but for now we have a large green pyramid in the side yard.

Onions! And some sort of perennial in the background and off to the left, neither of which were there when I planted the onions, but which have been growing at a fast clip!

Some of our impressive potato plants. Here's hoping we actually get some potatoes before the heat hits. So far, 15 of the 16 potato pieces I planted have sprouted.

Peas, climbing up their poles!

A closer-up shot of two peapods.

The strawberry plant that was showing so much promise the last time I posted pics of the garden is as dead as a doornail after I forgot to water it twice. So we got two more strawberries, a different variety this time, and here's one. Rather nibbled-on, though.

And the dill.

The chives. I need to harvest some soon.

The other new strawberry, much less nibbled-on, and the latest potato plant to emerge. I'd forgotten I planted the potato there when we planted the strawberry. :)

The two tomato plants, the bell pepper (foreground, and the sweet cayenne hiding under one of the tomatoes. And a random vine that seems to like growing here.

Baby tomato! Let's hope we manage to harvest it before the birds do!

The sweet cayenne. Somewhat nibbled upon, but still holding its own.

The cilantro, shooting up tall after I harvested most of it.

Rosemary and basil.

I envy you your entire garden, but especially the cilantro. Mine always dies.

I wasn't expecting it to get this tall and bushy. We need to eat the stuff I harvested already!
