If you issue an invitation to me for the purpose of laying nightmares to rest, and I don't take it up for a couple of days, it's because I'm fighting to keep my own nightmares down. :) I suspect everyone playing EB does the same thing and understands without me saying anything, but I feel vaguely like I ought to reassure people about that.

In other news. head mostly better today, but I'm still slow and tired and sleepy and perhaps not much good for anything today.

I need to get some more, but I just dropped a bunch of echoes on wine so I could get into the Shuttered Palace....only to discover that I really need to get my stats higher to get much benefit from that, sigh.

Heh, yeah...I keep trying to do things only to discover that my stats aren't right. Also, I had incorrectly guessed that this would be the sort of game where you specialize in one or two stats to the detriment of the others, and at least for the storylines I keep running into, it's more like you need to pump them all at about the same rate or it gets wacky. But maybe I'm doing it wrong?

That's pretty much what I've worked out - need to keep the stats roughly level. I had to spend a lot of time grinding to pick up Dangerous and Shadowy at one point.

*nod* I really pumped Persuasive hard at the beginning...and then had to go back for Shadowy, which I'd totally neglected...and now have to get the rest to meet Persuasive. Whoops. ^_^

Now what cards do I need to reduce suspicion? The Tomb Colonists have been talking.

I've hit the point where Scandal increases every time I fail at a Persuasive opportunity, so keeping Scandal down is more of an issue than Nightmares atm. >.>

Eep! I haven't go there yet, but I did end up in the Tomb-Colonies for a while after equipping a pair of red stockings, forgetting that my Scandal wasn't at 0...

It's not so bad, once you start having problems with gaining scandal you can invite people to help you play down the terrible truthrumours. Though I'm not sure if it's like with nightmares and the scandal rubs off a bit on those that help you...

At Scandal = 3, an option to "attend a church service" appears in your Lodgings. ^_^; I had bad luck on my first two attempts and though it didn't help, at least it didn't add to the damage!
