For NYC people and those visiting this spring...

The Japan Society in NYC has what looks like an interesting exhibit of prints of yokai up through June 13: Graphic Heroes, Magic Monsters: Japanese Prints by Utagawa Kuniyoshi from the Arthur R. Miller Collection. They also have a mangaka-in-residence, who will be creating a manga inspired by the prints in the exhibit who you can observe working on Friday evenings and Sundays.

Yokai? Sign me up. When I was in Japan last year I had to choose between visiting Kyoto or Sakaiminato. Kyoto is still on my list of places to one day visit. :)
