Feeeesh!

I wanted to draw a feeesh.

So I did.





Just a sketch ... and the girl developed those appalling under-eye circles when I compressed it to JPG for web posting. I may or may not finish it - I do want to finish the fish, at least, because I want to try to paint those beautiful shiny scales. The girl got thrown in because I thought of the full picture when I was in the shower.


I have also bee wandering around the house randomly saying "I want to draw a feeeesh!" because it sounds nifty. XD

Feeesh are fun to draw. When I kept an aquarium, I used to have disturbing dreams in which all the fish escaped and were swimming around the room, in the air.

When my friend Clint had to take anti-malarials before going on an archaeological dig in Belize, he said that the best part of the hallucinations they caused was lying back on his futon and watching the fish swimming around the ceiling.

The disembodied voice telling him to kill himself, not so much.
