When I was growing up, my parents were actually BOTH librarians. My mother was the library tech at the high school I went to, and my father is still a reference librarian with the Pierce County Library System.
So, yeah - I've been working in libraries since I was about 10. :P
I've worked myself in several college libraries, but never in the public system - the system here in town is pretty much soaked in nepotism, and it's impossible to get work for them. But I worked in the library at my last college as an Interlibrary Loan assistant, and I even worked for the state for a while, creating and maintaining a small internal cataloguing system for a little department library.
Right now, I'm finishing up some pre-reqs for my teaching degree at the local community college, and I managed to snatch up a pretty well coveted library page job there. It's my favorite library so far. :)
