I have no story, no ideas, and only a vague idea of what I want the theme to be. And my time is rapidly filling up, so I need to have these things NOW.

PANIC. Not in the cute, flaily way but in the serious hyperventilating way.

Yeah, I'm trying to ignore my tension headache and heading out into the snow to find some breakfast and write. After going down the wrong path, recovery hasn't been as smooth as I'd like and I need to get this beyond the 'vague idea' stage pronto.

I wish I wrote well at home because that snow really looks like it's the opposite of pleasant for driving in.

I've got people coming over later and need to get the house ready, so not much time today, Toby's parents are coming over tomorrow morning, I have to make a Paypal shopping cart for ConDFW, and I have to bake 5 dozen cookies for my mother next Saturday.

AAAAAGGGGGHHHHH!

(Yes, it doesn't help that I have an attack picture that wants to be painted NOW, either.)

Yeah, that sounds like an all around recipe for a last minute time squeeze and those are never pleasant. I guess just focus on what you can/have to do for now and at least wait until the houseguests are gone to beat up on yourself.

Maybe you could just add bears to your yuletide prompts? And maybe a cave-in? And let one of the characters be obsessed with painting a mural? Or even possessed by the spirit of a dead painter bent on completing his/her masterpiece?

That ....might actually be helpful...
