Trilobite meatloaf. With myrialux's "Oh dear god she's taking photos of me" expression and Alton Brown's meatloaf recipe (half size), which has been GREATLY IMPROVED with the addition of LOTS OF BACON. (Served with mashed potatoes, made using Alton Brown's mashers recipe as myrialux worships at the Church of Alton Brown.

Holy crap, that's a lot of bacon.

MMMMMM BACON. (The advantage of cooking it in a sheet pan, rather than a loaf pan, means that the bacon grease does run off, rather than having the meat sit in a puddle of bacon grease while cooking. Tastes good, but you can feel your arteries hardening.)

It was deelish. He layered the bacon over the meatloaf and popped it in the oven, then 10 minutes later, brushed the glaze (ketchup, cumin, Worcestershire sauce, honey) on and put it back. The edges of the bacon that weren't on the meatloaf got all dark and sweet and chewy and YUM.

Looking at that, I'm wondering if it could go a little further---layer something complementary and tasty under the bacon. Note: not turducken. More like terrine.
