Trilobite meatloaf. With [livejournal.com profile] myrialux's "Oh dear god she's taking photos of me" expression and Alton Brown's meatloaf recipe (half size), which has been GREATLY IMPROVED with the addition of LOTS OF BACON. (Served with mashed potatoes, made using Alton Brown's mashers recipe as [livejournal.com profile] myrialux worships at the Church of Alton Brown.

Holy crap, that's a lot of bacon.

IMPROVED with the addition of LOTS OF BACON

God that looks good.

I think my cholesterol spiked just LOOKING at it!

Everything's better with bacon!

The quote from IRC was "The recipie is Alton Brown's, minus the carrots. Fuck carrots."

A carrot once killed his family.

*drools over bacon*

It was deelish. He layered the bacon over the meatloaf and popped it in the oven, then 10 minutes later, brushed the glaze (ketchup, cumin, Worcestershire sauce, honey) on and put it back. The edges of the bacon that weren't on the meatloaf got all dark and sweet and chewy and YUM.

Looking at that, I'm wondering if it could go a little further---layer something complementary and tasty under the bacon. Note: not turducken. More like terrine.
