Everywhere I turn online today is stories of death, hurt, depression, gross unfairness, etc. I have run out of outrage and I am fast losing any ability to concentrate or function.
Um, one of the repositories whom I had to write for use/permissions gave us a half-off discount because the repro we have probably predates their collection's existence. (It was established in over fifty years ago. We have a photostat.)
Not sure that counts, exactly, but it made me pretty happy.
I'll have pictures from Sarracenia Northwest later today. It's impossible to be grim when looking at vistas of American and Asian pitcher plants, especially when they're blooming.
We put up a big wooden play structure in the backyard for the kids last weekend. They're having a blast and running up and down and swinging on it until we make them come in to avoid heat stroke. It's great listening to them laughing and giggling. The toddler's even figured out how to go up the slide, which I didn't think she'd up for yet.
I went to the park and had a picnic with Andi today! Then we came home and she enjoyed a cool bath. During her bath, she yelled out, "I make dirty baby soup and Ein LOVE it!" She and the dog have an odd symbiotic relationship.
These women (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2009/06/14/MNRR15FURD.DTL) are so awesome that it cheered me up no end to read about them. I want to send them all roses and swords. Or perhaps more pragmatic aid.
After work, we are going out for ice cream at the Best Ice Cream Place in Canada, where they hand-make the yummy waffle cones, and the ice cream is hand made, and it is all tasty, and it is called COWS, and I will look at PIRATE COW HATS, and everything will be awesome.
Also, it is Canada Day tomorrow, so I get a parade!
I found my missing box of LifeBeforeMarriage&Kids. I'm digging through it piece by piece and am amazed at what I've found that I thought was long lost: my "core photos queen" tiara, magnetic poetry, the entirety of the epic saga Emily & I wrote my senior year of HS, business cards from places that closed years ago, my act results, supportive letters from an ex-boyfriend's grandmother, programs to various things I'd forgotten I'd gone to, etc...
- My favourite character in my favourite comic is officially bisexual. - I'm actually looking forward to doing my tax this month because I've only had one job this financial year! - I had dinner with relatives tonight for the third time in a fortnight and it was fabulous. - I look great with my new hair colour.
