* She lives in a port town, and refuses to consider any young man from there as a partner, because her father and brothers were sailors whose ship vanished and she refuses to go through that heartbreak again! (Perhaps she hears a strange rumor that might mean they're alive, and she ahs to contract a ship to take her somewhere, and the young, daring captain is determined to win her heart, while she's equally determined not to fall for him.)

** My Fair Lady, steampunk style!

** An idol singer actually is a celestial maiden come to earth

Perfect Watercolor-tinted Kami is a one-shot, or at most a single volume, involving an couple art students and a shrine behind the school.

Good Morning, Feather = Haibane Renmei doujinshi?

Fashionable Alien University = Ai Yazawa and Naoki Urasawa collaborate on a science fiction series?

Society of Fruit Mages was the follow-up to Pallet of 12 Secret Colors, which made it clear the mangaka is one of those authors who have only one good story in them. Alas.

Speaking of Urasawa, Golden Judo Blossom is a Yawara! knock-off.

Another Faraway Fortress is a shoujo high fantasy in the manner of Fushigi Yuuji and From Far Away, only with more gag humor elements. Once the earth-born heroine arrives in the secondary world and awakens her powers, it gets interesting, but until then the jokes kinda fall flat in translation.

You know there's about 100 romance novels with this plot.

** My Fair Lady, steampunk style!

I want it.

It would be fun to write some Coppelia-referential dark-Romanticism E.T.A. Hoffman stuff into that. Hm.

And another romace plot: Miracle Ancient Summer

A young woman spending a summer in Kyoto finds herself traveling back and forth between Heian Japan and the present day. Is she falling for this young nobleman whose garden she keeps appearing in?
