OH SNAP

You know the "hi can i request a pic(reply bak)" person? I replied to them with a link to my commission prices. They just replied:
i dont pay, bye
WELL I GUESS THAT TOLD ME, HUH?

I'm debating a reply, but haven't come up with anything properly cutting yet.

"You get what you pay for! =D"

I don't know how I'll be able to go on.

No one will fault you can't find a way.

If you have to ask, you can't afford it

That's how all the really big art collectors operate. You SHOULD be bummed, you probably blew off Steve Martin there.

*snork*
Would be tempted to reply to them with 'Good luck with that.'.
chisotahn: Firebird with the text "Firebird's Child". (do not want!)

[personal profile] chisotahn 2009-05-27 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, that's... special.

[identity profile] txtriffidranch.livejournal.com 2009-05-28 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
The best response? "Good. I hate customers so cheap that they use both sides of the toilet paper." Besides, why should you give a damn about twerps so lazy that they can't be bothered to use the shift key?

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2009-05-28 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
They're the same people who come up to my art table at the con, ask for a free commission, and when I say no, argue with me. Yeah, sure, that makes me more likely to change my mind!

I'm just using this icon for the irony

[identity profile] cicer.livejournal.com 2009-05-28 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
Oh lord. You're kidding. People actually have the balls to ask for a free commission? That alone amazes me. The fact that they then argue with you about it is even more baffling.

She's not kidding in the slightest. Some of them act as if you owe them free work, and throw temper tantrums when you tell them to get stuffed.

And the people who buy one item and ask for a discount. No! If you buy several, I'd consider it, but if I discount *one* item I lose all my profit! And why arguing with me over that seems to be a good strategy, I have no idea!

[identity profile] txtriffidranch.livejournal.com 2009-05-28 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
I know. They're cousins to the shitheads who used to accost me at conventions for free magazines, in some cases literally grabbing me by the knees to get a copy, and then tossing it when they realize that they aren't interested in the subject matter.

HOW DO YOU SLEEP WIF SUCH SCATHING COMEBACKS.

I DON'T! I LIE AWAKE ALL NIGHT!

My suggestion: "stuff up ass faggot, bye"

Boy, Mr. Entitlement is in for a highly rude surprise... when he finally graduates from community college after four or five years and has to, like, earn a living. And discover that the world is not his Mom (nor Internet fandom) and will not provide free housing, food and domestic service. *snicker*

*icon for moron*

Sheesh... I've had a few of those myself which is a nail in the foot given my current financial crunch of death. But seriously if you ask for art you should expect to pay something... ugh.

[identity profile] meganbmoore.livejournal.com 2009-05-28 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I even don't mind them asking for a request, and then being gracious about not getting one, or saying "I'll come back when I have money" or something. It's the sheer entitlement encapsulated in the "i dont pay" - not even a PLEASE or THANK YOU - that makes me want to punch people in the face through the internet.

Sorry, this is Telophase, forgetting that Megan was logged in!

You should draw them a stick figure and tell them that is all you have in your 'free' section.
