Someone's finally getting the idea!

Shogakukan, one of the major Japanese manga publishers, is taking steps to make authorized English version of their manga available online a few days after the publication in Japan.

Unfortunately for you non-U.S. residents, they say the site will only be browseable by people in the U.S. Time to find a proxy server! :)

I'm not really surprised. I figured if the Rinne translations did well, they'd probably expand and work on other titles as well.

Hot damn!

(for some reason I still blink at the idea of scanlations as "bootlegging".)

This and the legal streaming of certain anime and dramas make me very happy.
