...this is just to say that I suspect I'll be remaining here, for the most part. I might get an account at Dreamwidth when the beta goes live, to reserve my name and for backup purposes*, but as I am TERRIBLY LAZY, I suspect I won't bother to do much over there.





* or if any RPG I might join ends up over there, for instance.

My feeling is that even if I move over to Dreamwidth, cross-posting is so easy and there are so many people here who would not be making the switch, I'll always have a presence here on LJ. I'd just be updating in multiple places and reading two separate lists.

Since my Mysterious Benefactor(s?) bought the permanent account for me here, I feel much more of a responsibility to stay on LJ, so even if a lot of people jump ship or I get an account and start updating over there, this will be my primary base of operations.

I invested in a permanent account with the intention of staying for the long haul. I'm just distracted right now by the shiiiiny of some of their backup and archival functionality.

Also, I'm totally impressed that they made the navigation strip useful.

Yeah, I'm waiting to see how it all shakes down. I just signed in with my Open ID (i.e., my LJ address) so I could create a reading list* to keep track of my LJ and other friends who go there, although I think most aren't leaving LJ permanently.

* And oh, how I love they call it a reading list and not a friend list!
