The Big Picture today has shots of Holi, the Hindu Festival of Colors, which people celebrate in part by throwing or smearing colors on each other.

It's wonderful to see a collection of photos in which everyone looks so happy.

I liked what one of the comments says about it being a spring festival "imitating nature" - what a great idea! Much more fun than easter.

That looks like a lot of fun. I think more things like that need to be celebrated, especially here in England, I don't think Morris Dancers and May Day are quite the same. *Just wants an excuse to throw paint at people and not get in trouble for it.*
