(a) This is really about the level the Matt sketch was at before I started painting.

(b) If you crit it, the painting will be killed dead. Sorry. I know you mean well, but it's at that stage. I have to work the problems and solutions out myself or it's no longer my painting and I can't continue.

(c) Her sword dissolves into ash that she can control - ideally, I'd like to depict the moment it's dissolving. We'll see if I'm capable of that.



Basically, I wanted to attempt to paint a chick in the realistic style so I picked one I don't see a whole lot of fanart of, at least in the circles I surf in.

I'd forgotten the ash thing, which should turn out soooo coooool looking. And now I have an bizarre desire to read about her using the ash to make, like, SHINIGAMI SOAP. Or at least BATTLE LYE, which would sting beyond pain.

I'm not sure I can do a Gin realistically. XD We'll see. :D I'm not entirely sure how I'm going to approach the ash thing yet, either.

(I suspect I already know the problems that people would bring up, and am thinking about how to fix them already, but other people pointing them out will still derail the process. Hopefully this blip in my working style will iron itself out eventually.)

I totally know how you feel- I know where my problems lie even if I haven't gotten them worked out yet, and it makes me crazy when people point them out to me and I often get frustrated and can't work on it anymore. >_< I am absolutely in love with her expression, especially the eyes. Gorgeous.
