Aaaaaart

A little bit farther on in the picture, no thinks to the kitten (click the 'advanced painter techniques' tag to see the previous versions; I'm too lazy to link).

And a closer view of the face and neck.

Worked on refining the face a bit more - added the whites of the eyes and the teeth, made the nose more defined. Did a lot of work on the neck to make it not a stark column. Added a bit more definition to the hair, but not a huge amount.

ETA: Also I worked the dress a little bit more, to extend the highlights and bring the far side out of the background, where it had been vanishing previously and making it look like her right arm was farther away from her body than it should have been.

I need to make it look not quite so much like she's got a lot of eyeshadow on, although I like the dark-red lipstick look. :D

The way her eyes are placed feels odd to me-- if she turned her head and were facing forward, I think that the eye on her-right my-left would be both substantially farther from her nose and slightly lower than the other eye.

I really like the way the waist of the dress drapes.

Yeah, after I posted this I looked back at the older version and it seems I misinterpreted the slight bulge of the lower eyelid for the line of the lower eyelid, if that makes sense. Something to fix next time, at any rate. :D

I totally envy your flesh technique. I do pretty much anything to avoid it.

It's not easy, and I'm just really learning it - I have to force myself to shove other colors in there, but at least it's working. XD
