yuletide progress report
Good: 1319 words! Well past the 1000-word minimum!
Bad: It's, like, only halfway through the story, and I'll need to go back through and rewrite it, adding, shall we say, local color to the prose.
Ah, hell, I'm going to have some ice cream. *gets the Lact-Aid*

Do you have a Kaleidoscoops ice cream shop anywhere near you? They sell ice cream called Play Doh (it really does look like it, too!) that's just vanilla ice cream with cookie dough in it. I do love chocolate, but once in a while it's nice to have the dough without the crunchy bits.

I don't think I've seen a Kaleidoscope. That sounds good. :D

Good thing, because I love ice cream and I don't know how you can handle not being able to eat it like I do XD I went through a pint of Phish Food in two days a couple weeks ago...
Here's a link to Kaleidoscoops page that lists their Texas locations, http://www.kaleidoscoops.com/locations/loca4.asp

I think that's the way mine's going to go - one rush through to get the plot nailed down, and then another pass to make sure the characters are IC (ummm, that would be "in character," not "ice cream"). This author isn't as much of a stylist as last year's, though.

The way I handle it is mostly conditioning: when something makes you sick every time you eat it, it stops tasting so good. :)
*clicks link* Yup, none in this area. Ah well. I'll keep it in mind if I go down to Houston. :D
