Once someone asked about using a drawing of mine for a tattoo, but it was a portrait of the Undertaker, who is of course a living canvas himself, like a lot of pro wrestlers. So that seemed apt, at least! No idea if he ever went ahead and had it done.
I've been thinking about getting tattoos of a few pieces of original art (wildlife drawings) over on DA, but as soon as I started considering it, I asked the artists if they were okay with the possibility.
Don't think I'll ever get a fan-art tattoo, though. Waste of valuable skin space, and it seems too likely to be something I'd wind up regretting.
No, but it's not like I'm going to get overly butt-hurt over someone taking a fanart to make a tattoo of. She's not claiming it's hers or trying to sell copies of it. :D Plus, it wouldn't solve any problems and would make people angry all around, and I have no desire to make someone feel bad for the rest of their life every time they look at their permanent decoration. :)
I have no idea what I'd do if someone took an original artwork for a tattoo without asking.
The only tattoo I've ever had the desire to get was a drawing of the skull of an Australopithecus from the pages of Scientific American. But considering that I'm allergic to at least one ink and have been developing the occasional new allergy, I don't have the urge bad enough to either bother with allergy testing or risk a new allergy to ink components. :)

A tattoo from fanart? If you love the series so much, why not use a pic from the series itself?
Captcha: "elbows mind". I suppose when you stick a needle into them, they do.

Wow, that's certainly a different level of compliment!
